  • Assistant/Associate Professor of Elementary Education (#278)

The primary responsibilities of the person who occupies this position will include dynamic teaching of undergraduate courses related to Elementary Education and Literacy, advising undergraduate Elementary Education Teacher Candidates, participation in accreditation and other Teacher Education Program academic and social activities, service to the institution and the field, and scholarly activity.     Job Responsibilities:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • MSN degree: terminal degree (PhD, DNP)preferred, from an accredited college / university
    • Has a current, active, unencumbered SC nursing license.
    • A minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Highly organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to consistently multi-task.
    • Current American Heart Association BLS for health care providers CPR certification.

    Physical and Emotional Qualifications:

    • Ability to speak clearly to communicate instructions and clarify understanding.
    • Hearing adequate to discern subtle body sounds.
    • Visual acuity to accurately observe student performance.
    • Hand / eye coordination sufficient to operate technology and perform nursing functions.

    Reports to:Director of Nursing

    Course Management:orient, train, and stay up to date on use of Canvas Learning Management System, Limestone HALO, ATI, Navigate, and any other software systems utilized by the programfor effective course development and delivery. Provide timely feedback and grading. Document accurately and appropriately. Submit grades as indicated by university deadlines.

    Clinical Management: plan for clinical experiences in coordination with the courses in the simulation environment and local facilities, schedule clinical hours, orient students to facilities, manage students while in the organizations, supervise students at all times, evaluate students daily, maintain good working relations with agencies and faculty, communicate and solve issues as they arise, conduct nursing practice without discrimination, respect privacy, be accountable to nursing standards, and scope of practice, and submit evaluations / grades as indicated by University deadlines.

    Professional Development: Remain current of knowledge, skills and best practices in delivering quality nursing instruction through attending conferences, classes, reading journals and independent study.

    Teaching:courses as assigned.

    Evaluation: The nursing program will evaluate the performance of full-time faculty members as outlined in the Faculty & Staff Handbook annually.     ۴ý invites applications for the position of Class 1 Officer (SC Certified Police Officer) for the department of Campus Safety.

    Position Summary: This position reports directly to the Chief of Campus Safety. Duties include patrolling campus, screening visitors and other activities related to the safety and security of university property, students, employees, and community. Maintains order and prevents the unlawful use of force or violence, or any unlawful conduct on campus; enforces federal and state laws as well as county and city ordinances, and University rules and regulations. Identify potential security and safety hazards; observant while responding to potential suspicious activity on campus; maintain good public relations by assisting others as a source of information and direction; control and regulating traffic and parking; investigating all LE, security, safety, and traffic incidents on campus. *Limestone Campus Safety is a split department consisting of both security and sworn law enforcement officers.

    The department operates on 12-hour shifts, providing service 24/7. Additional hours may be assigned for working special events and athletic games.

    The law enforcement officer, reports to the Chief of Campus Safety, and will be responsible for carrying out the basic security functions of ۴ý; including but not limited to; the protection of life and property, maintenance of public order, prevention of crime, response to emergency situations, diffusing difficult situations, securing buildings and enforcing University rules and regulations.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Characteristic Duties

    • Informs the Shift Sergeant and/or the Chief of any unusual situations or circumstances that come to their attention
    • Patrols assigned areas making inquiries and inspection oriented towards protecting of life and property, preventing crime and accidents (Patrols include both foot and vehicle)
    • Observes and reports any faulty or unsafe equipment and/or conditions
    • Properly investigates all assigned incidents and document the findings of the investigation on department report forms
    • Accurately completes all necessary administrative forms and reports
    • Enforces university parking and traffic regulations by the issuance of parking and traffic citations
    • Diffuses difficult situations and will accompany unauthorized individuals off college owned and controlled property
    • Makes crucial decisions under stress
    • Determines “probable cause” and makes arrests of individuals in compliance with department policy
    • Determines when, and under what circumstances, to use non-lethal or deadly force
    • May be subjected to public criticism and social pressures that create stress
    • May encounter both health and safety hazards
    • Testifies clearly and truthfully during campus conduct hearings and/or court proceedings
    • Provides emergency first aid to injured or ill person(s) and assists in the transportation of these persons when necessary
    • Maintain or obtain Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) and Conductive Electrical Weapon certification
    • Admits authorized person(s) into locked buildings, facilities and rooms during business and non-business hours
    • Responds to building alarms
    • Responds to calls for assistance

Proficiency utilizing a computer with Microsoft Word and Excel software; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; The ability to meet and maintain the firearms qualification standards of the ۴ý Campus Safety Department. The ability to successfully meet and maintain the physical fitness standards of ۴ý Campus Safety.     Duties include

    • Reviewing and processing student applications and/or documents; acquiring student credentials required for admissions status and monitoring applicant's progress.
    • Counseling students and families about educational opportunities, admission, transfer of credit, financial assistance, university and NCAA policies and requirements.
