Limestone Professor Dr. Alex Richardson Has Poems Published

Dr. Alex Richardson, a Professor of English at 优蜜传媒, recently had two poems selected for Last Leaves Magazine, an online literary magazine that features art and poetry.

Richardson鈥檚 poems 鈥淪ynthesis鈥 and 鈥淲ater鈥 will be released with the Fall 2022 issue this October.

The theme for the fall edition is 鈥淕rowth,鈥 and will feature works covering a wide range of subject matter. Richardson鈥檚 pieces discuss two very different topics, with both converging into this similar theme.

鈥淥ne is about the acceptance of death and making that loss a part of you,鈥 he said. 鈥淭he other is about being a bit happier when someone does something you thought you would have to do yourself, something simple. A small pleasure.鈥

Last Leaves Magazine promotes itself as 鈥渁n online space for the celebration of great poetry.鈥 It has currently produced four issues, and physical copies can be found through Barnes & Noble. All issues are available for free online at .

Richardson has taught at Limestone for 20 years and was the University鈥檚 2020 recipient for the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities Excellence In Teaching Award.

His collection of poems, 鈥淧orch Night on Walnut Street,鈥 is available for purchase on Plain View Press. He has published poems in over 40 literary magazines, journals, and anthologies. Some of the journals include Rattle, Barrow Street, Free Lunch, The Southeast Review, and POEM.

In 2009, Richardson was awarded a Fulbright Scholar award for which he taught courses in American culture at the University of Madeira in Portugal. He earned his undergraduate and master鈥檚 degrees in English at the University of South Carolina, and his doctoral degree in English from the University of Southern Mississippi.
