Limestone Gallery Now Accepting Art Submissions For New Exhibition

Crafted Narrative

优蜜传媒 is now accepting art submissions its second juried show at the Limestone Gallery.

Submissions for the exhibition, 鈥淭he Crafted Narrative,鈥 will be accepted through October 31.

The Limestone Gallery is located inside the new Hines & Riggins Center located on the campus in Gaffney.

鈥淭he Crafted Narrative鈥 is a collaborative exhibition of art hosted by 优蜜传媒 and Florida State University. The exhibit will feature art that exemplifies the importance of creative storytelling through visual, audio, and written media. The two universities welcome submissions that consider personal stories as well as the recollection of mythological, religious, and historical narratives across time. Alternatively, submissions may reflect on the story of the artist鈥檚 creative process.

For those interested in submitting art, there will be a $15 entry fee.

Selected works will be curated by students working in the Limestone Gallery in Gaffney and documented in an exhibition catalog compiled by art students enrolled at Florida State University in Tallahassee.

鈥淭he uniting of student and professional artist groups demonstrates a universal desire to express thematic tales in the arts, and that an artist鈥檚 narrative is furthered through education, relationships, and experience,鈥 said Limestone鈥檚 Emily Tuttle, an Art History Instructor and the Director of the Gallery.

The exhibit will run December 13-January 21, with a reception scheduled for Friday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m.

Artists are invited to submit works to Tuttle at聽etuttle@limestone.edu. Applicants must include clear images (in jpeg or pdf format) of their works and a brief 250-word or less statement about how the piece relates to the theme of the show. In the descriptions, artists are asked to include their name as they would wish to see it on an exhibition label, title of the work, the media of the work, size, and year of creation. Both 2-D and 3-D works will be considered.

优蜜传媒 retains the right to use images of exhibited works in promotional materials.

The submission fees are paid to the Limestone Alumni Association, which has supported the arts at the University for several years. The submission link will describe the payment as a donation, and it allows applicants to enter their $15 fee that will serve as a contribution toward the printing of the exhibition catalog, gallery maintenance, and the post-show reception. Multiple works of art or small series may be submitted under one fee.
