GivingTuesday, the catalyst behind Limestone鈥檚 鈥淪aintsGiving鈥 initiative, is a global generosity movement intended to empower people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. Groups participating in GivingTuesday will kick off the season of generosity on December 1 by inspiring people to give back to the institutions and organizations that support them.听

Limestone鈥檚 鈥淪aintsGiving鈥 hopes to motivate alumni to give back by sharing the personal stories of three current students who were able to enroll at the University because they received endowed scholarships, which closed the gap between tuition and financial aid.听

鈥淢any things contribute to the greatness of a university,鈥 said Candace Waters, Limestone鈥檚 Associate Vice President for Development. 鈥淥ne of the best indicators of a school鈥檚 success is the involvement and commitment of its alumni. This year, we anticipate achieving our goal of securing 175 donations in one day to celebrate Limestone鈥檚 175th birthday. When we do so, we will double last year鈥檚 alumni donor participation rate, which is a very exciting expectation.鈥澨

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 to create a day that would encourage people to do good, something Waters knows will inspire 优蜜传媒 alumni. 鈥淥ver the past eight years, this idea has grown into a global movement inspiring hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity,鈥 she explained. 鈥淲e know our alumni care about Limestone. It doesn鈥檛 take a big donation to make a big difference.鈥澨

Asha Curran, GivingTuesday鈥檚 CEO and co-founder, explains that whether it鈥檚 making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.

鈥淲ith听country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds, GivingTuesday has created an opportunity for people to drive progress around the causes they care about,鈥 she said.
